Common Questions

Quick answers about our termite and pest control services across Sydney.

A standard termite inspection is from $240 for a single-storey home and from $260 for a double-storey. That includes thermal imaging and a moisture meter, and you get the written report on-site before I leave. Treatments are quoted separately after the inspection, because every property's different.
At least once a year. Termites work out of sight, and a year is plenty of time for a colony to do real damage to the timber in a house. If your place is higher risk, like an older home, a damp subfloor, or timber against the walls, it's worth doing more often.
A termite inspection focuses on termites. A timber pest inspection also covers wood borers and decay fungi. If you're buying a property, you want the timber pest version, which gives you the full picture of the timber's condition.
Yes. I do independent pre-purchase timber pest inspections across Sydney, covering termites, borers and decay fungi, and hand you the report on-site so you've got it before you commit. Book it as soon as your contract's signed, so you've got time to act on what I find.
Yes. “White ant” is just the common Australian name for a termite. Same insect, same damage, same treatment.
A Termidor chemical barrier carries an 8-year warranty. It stays valid as long as you keep up your annual inspections, which catch anything that disturbs the treated zone, like building work or new landscaping, before termites find the gap.
Both. It depends on the property. A chemical barrier suits most established homes where I can trench and drill. Baiting (I use Trelona and Nemesis) suits places with big gardens or tight access. I'll recommend whichever actually fits after the inspection, not the dearer option.
A chemical barrier goes into the soil around and under the house, not inside your living space, and you're back to normal once the job's done. Baiting stations are sealed and sit in the ground. I'll talk you through anything specific to your place while I'm there.
Give me a call and I'll find the soonest slot that works. I'm out across Sydney 7 days a week. If you've found live termites, don't disturb them and let me know, so I can get to you sooner.
I cover all of Sydney metro. Wherever you are, give me a call on 0405 790 927 and I'll come have a look.
Treatments come with a 6-month guarantee. Barrier treatments carry longer warranties on top: 8 years on a chemical barrier, 50 years on a pre-construction physical barrier. Those stay valid as long as you keep up your annual inspections.
I'll show you what I found and explain the options on the day, in writing, before I leave. Then it's your call, with no pressure. In the meantime, don't disturb the area, because knocking into a colony can make it split and spread through the house.
