How pre-construction barriers work

A physical barrier system is installed under and around the concrete slab during construction. The sheeting creates a continuous, impenetrable layer between the ground and the structure. Termites physically cannot get through it — there’s no chemical to degrade over time, no soil treatment to reapply.

Because it’s installed before the building is complete, it protects the structure from day one. Once the slab is poured, this type of barrier can no longer be installed.

Important: pre-construction only

Physical barriers of this type cannot be retrofitted to an existing home. They are only available for new builds during the construction phase, before the slab is poured.

For established homes, chemical barriers and monitoring and baiting systems are the appropriate treatments.
